Longford Roots®> Having utilized the resources in your own country, you have traced your Farrell ancestors back to the one who first set foot on your country's soil. You now are ready to try to trace your ancestors back to their native Ireland. For help in this regard, a computer search can be attempted on your behalf in Ireland by Longford Roots®.Longford Roots® undertakes research into the histories of families who were resident in County Longford before 1900. The Centre is operated by the Longford Museum and Heritage Centre. Longford Roots® has on its database the church records of baptisms, marriages and burials for some of the Church of Ireland parishes and all of the Catholic parishes. The starting dates vary from parish to parish (the earliest record is for 1779). Unfortunately, Longford Roots® does not, as yet, have access to Civil Records but can get official Certificates if enough information is available. The 1901 census records and 1854 land records are also available to Longford Roots®. In addition, there are gravestone inscriptions for some parishes, local papers, local school registers, voter lists, trade directories and local folklore. Charges: The cost varies and is dependent on the dates that records begin in each parish, the size of the family and the quality of information provided by the client. Each enquiry is commenced with an initial assessment priced at €75 or US$70. This will establish the overall cost of the research.
